On August 21, 2018, ISLI illustration link applicationinternational seminar was held in Beijing successfully, as the themeof “link”, participants thoroughly discussed the application of ISLI international standards in the illustration industry and the promoting effectonillustration industry. Staged achievement of ISLI international standard’s application in “Global Illustration Award”wasdisplayedat the meeting, whichprovidesmore choicesforISLI applicationsin wider areasand played a positive role in ISLI’s global promotion.

Seminar scene

During the seminar, Ms. Victoria Fomina, a Russian famous artist, designer and illustrator, introduced her illustration works and some related works in other industry, indicated that illustration is an “interdisciplinary industry” and tremendous development spaces has been found in a multitudeof areas. Such as advertisement, business promotion, packaging design, image design, audio-visual multimedia and game etc. What is more, Mr. Sven Ehmann who is a creative director of German Infographic group, has already made a deep understanding of ISLI international standards before attend the seminar, at the meeting, Ehmann displayed the illustration and AR technology as well as the results of illustration in data visualization. Ms. Claudia, the VicePresident of Frankfurt book fair, who shared the attempt of integration of Art and technology from the view of Frankfurt book fair as the world's largest book industry content platform, especially in the concept and case of Art+ exhibition area of the book fair.

Futhermore, Ms. Jie Ming Wu,a professor of North China University of Technologywho insisted that the copyright protection of illustration can be realized by relating to the unique copyright identification (DCI) of digital works with ISLI international standard,thus, the automatic registration, infringement monitoring and evidence collection and benefit distribution of illustration works can be achieved. According to Ms. Jia Jun Tang, a staff from the digital publishing department of China Publishing Group, who figured that China traditional culture elements should be related to the international community throughillustrationbytaking the application of ISLI international standards as a supportwith using illustration as a meansto finda suitable road for developing China traditional culture.

Introduction of ISLI international standard by Ms. Guo Li

In consideration of that the International Information Content Industry Association (ICIA) is the international Registration Authority of ISLI authorized by ISO, after receiving the invitation from the organizer of seminar, Ms. Guo Li, the secretary of ISLI RA,asthe representative of ICIA attended the seminar.At the meeting, Ms. Guo Li illustratedsome application achievements of ISLI international standards worldwide and pointed out theproblems during promoting ISLI international standard, which obtained the huge understanding and consent from other meeting participants.
